The Bujinkan (Hall of the Divine Warrior) is an international organization founded by Sōke Masaaki Hatsumi to pass on the nine historical traditions inherited from his teacher, Toshitsugu Takamatsu:

While we usually translate 武神 (Bujin) as Divine Warrior, outside the Bujinkan, it is more commonly translated as God of War or Martial God. When Hatsumi Sensei first met Takamatsu Sensei, he felt as though he was in the presence of a god; so the name Bujinkan can be seen to be in honor of Takamatsu Sensei.
